CASUALLY HYPERVENTILATES BECAUSE CLOSING NIGHT IS MY MAKEUP BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR SPENDING LAST YEAR’S IN SANTA BARBARA WITH MOM

Good for him, but I don’t think he needed to apologize, He’s fighting the good fight.
Okay, maybe the “kill yourself” thing was bad, but until you’ve experienced a Twitter attack, I’m not sure I can condemn him for reacting like he did. He had hate thrown at him and he threw it right back.

Bleach is mostly water. And we are mostly water.
I guess you can see where I’m going with this.
No, but seriously, it’s nice how the conservative right fights the way my mom does — doesn’t matter who’s got the better logic, the first one to get agitated loses the argument.

Brendon Small did an IAMA on Reddit today

It was pretty great, and totally packed. Here is a question I asked:

  1. About the show: You’re always emphatic that you’ve always had an end in mind for Metalocalypse; I really admire that you’re sticking through to the vision — has anything changed, though, from your original concept? Either the characterizations, or the humor aesthetic?

  2. About the music: The samples for Galaktikon are incredible. Do you have any project ideas for the future where we’ll get to hear you sing more?

And his answer:

  1. you always have to yield to the show- meaning it will naturally take a course that it takes with all the info you give it- the characters have come to life and grown by leaps and bounds from season 1, and you just have to let it happen.

as for the ending- there are a lot of ways to skin that cat. one of which involves skinning an actual cat.

[2]. thanks- again we’ll see if people buy it and that will tell me everything i guess …

Taking for granted my existing feelings about Brendon’s work in advance, I just have so much love for this method of character development.  This, combined with the fact that he is resolute about not letting outsiders influence the work, really means that what you’re getting is real, vitalized storytelling, and I think that’s just beyond wonderful.

And also, buy Galaktikon, guys. Even if it’s not Dethklok. The samples are great. It’s undeniable. Brendon, Bryan and Gene are three ridiculously talented artists and masters of spinning multiple high-priority plates on a constant basis. The hard work needs to be rewarded.

And utterly unrelated and in closing, is the best question on today’s entire board:

Q. “Do Brendon, Jason and Melissa ever get a new video camera? This is a real question.”

A. “the question is- do they need the camera anymore?”

New Twin Peaks Exhibition!  April 21st!
Following last year’s Twin Peaks Anniversary show, In The Trees, is this year’s exhibition called “Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me” Group Art Exhibition at Copro Gallery in LA.
Some of the artwork is previewed on Hi-Fructose at this moment.
The above piece is my addition to the show.  It is called “The Peek”.

All my love for the Peaks. Cooper and MfAP should have crazy dance parties in here. I will carpet my entire house this way one day.

Nobody can shut up about Van Halen lately, so I drew this classy fucker circa 1979. Don’t feel bad if you keep looking at his crotch. It happens to everybody.

INTERVIEWER: Give me one of your purely satisfying mean moments. TINA FEY: The first thing that comes to mind is a more recent one, when Amy Poehler and I were in the airport last week in Toronto and we were getting hassled by this middle-aged businessman who was doing that thing that middle-aged businessmen do, being rude. And then Amy, in the middle of the airport, screamed, “Fuck you, you fuckin’ dick, you fuckin’ rich asshole.” And it was so satisfying—it was immediate release. She would probably be mortified that I told you. (x)
